July 7, 2016

The 2016 Phillips Collection payed homage to the impact of the ‘arabesque’ on modern art, and honored the artistic exchange and cultural diplomacy between the State of Qatar and the US.

Led by diplomatic chair Mohammed Jaham al-Kuwari, the Qatari ambassador to the United States, the 95th Phillips Collection Gala celebrated all things ‘arabesque’ with custom decor, florals, tabletop and a creative menu that highlighted the harmonious exchange of cultures.

Guests were welcomed with Sultan Sour Cocktails and Ginger-Grapefruit Mocktails and traditional Middle Eastern bites of Keftah, Spinach and Feta Bourek, Falafel and Lamb on  Zatar-spiced Crisps.

Dinner was served in galleries throughout the museum. Each gallery was designed to reflect the vibrant Qatari culture with richly patterned linens; saturated, jewel-toned lighting; silky swags and tassels; chic tabletop decor and abundant florals and plants.Phillips_ (1 of 38) Phillips_ (2 of 38) PGO_5691 PGO_5678PGO_5668PGO_5686Phillips_ (3 of 38) Phillips_ (5 of 38) Phillips_ (12 of 38) Phillips_ (13 of 38) phillips flowers PGO_5773
