The hippest moms in DC know the source for new trends, cool ideas, fresh inspiration and practical tips is Washingtonian’s Mom Magazine. The Winter issue features “The Ultimate Birthday Party Guide” that’s packed with gorgeous shots of Occasions’ food and tons of tips for planning a super-fun kid’s birthday bash.
The Occasions’ offices became “Camp Birthday” for the day-long photo shoot. Grab the latest WMOM issue for a closer look at our incredible Birch Birthday Cake with painted Sugar Butterflies, Marzipan Mushrooms and Chocolate Nests filled with Robin’s Egg Truffles.
The “Chow Time” buffet shows-off our take on a Mess Hall menu with foods kid campers love like crunchy Pretzel Ants-on-a-Log, savory Mini Waffle Sliders, stuffed Baked Potatoes, gooey Mac ‘n’ Cheese”Tater” Tots, and merit-worthy Scout Badge Cookies. Recipes are included for ambitious DIY moms.
For the hostess, there’s a handy list of “Who to Call” for everything from pony rides and reptile wranglers to traveling tumble buses and mobile kiddie spas with fun ideas for games, crafts and decor to make planning easy. For the party guests, “Presenting the Best” gives lots of leads for finding the perfect party present.
Thanks to photographer Dean Alexander, Pum and Jake Lefebure from Design Army, Kate Bennett from Washingtonian Mom Magazine and all of the cute kids for making Occasions part of the birthday fun!
