The Vu’s I do’s
September 24, 2014
Weddings are always special but it’s an extra treat when the bride is one of our own. As we excitedly count down the days to the next Occasions’ wedding (Danielle + Eamon this weekend), here’s a look back at another Occasions’ bride, Denise with her husband Phi. Enjoy the Vu’s at their Vietnamese celebration in Woodbridge then again at their western ceremony at the Carnegie Institute in DC.
As is the custom, many of the traditional Vietnamese dishes were prepared by the couple’s families.
During cocktails at the DC ceremony, a Bubble Bar and Roving Raw Bar delighted guests on the Portico of Carnegie.
Custom Champagne Cocktails created with the guests’ choice of flavored Sugar Batons, Herb Sprigs, fresh Berries, Citrus Peel Ribbons, Candied Ginger and housemade Syrups. From large hawker trays, Rappahannock Oysters, Shrimp and Cocktail Crab Claws were offered with Lemons, Tabasco, Mignonette and Cocktail Sauces.
The plated dinner at the Carnegie party started with a Pan-seared Scallop Amuse Bouche, followed by a Beet and Chive-crusted Chevre Salad with Golden Beet and Truffle Coulis, an entree of Beef Tenderloin with Herbed Farrotto and Sugar Snap Peas, and ended with a delightful Local Cheese Course paired with sweet and savory garnishes.
Sweet memories of two beautiful parites to get us ready for another Occasions’ bride’s big day!
