Samsung’s U.S. Public Affairs office hosted its “Chef of Staff” event at 101 Constitution to launch their $500,000 partnership with the Fisher House Foundation (FHF). The Fisher House Foundation provides military families with housing close to a loved one during hospitalization for an illness, disease or injury. The evening featured Samsung Club des Chefs Daniel Boulud (DANIEL Restaurant, in New York City) and Christopher Kostow (Restaurant at Meadowood, Napa Valley), who designed passed hors d’oeuvre menus and led culinary demonstrations using Samsung’s Chef Collection appliances. The same Samsung appliances that will be installed in Fisher Houses nationwide.

As the chefs prepared to take center stage in the Samsung demonstation kitchen, Occasions offered specialty cocktails (Apple Cider and Prosecco Sparklers and Rosemary Pear Matinis) and displayed hors d’oeuvres including Saucepots with warm Artichoke Dip and Toast Tips; Artisan Cheeses paired with Sweet and Savory Sides; and Crab Cakes on Brioche with Fennel-Celery Slaw.

In addition to home kitchen innovation, creative chefs and remarkable food, the event highlighted an important cause. “Fisher House Foundation is eager and excited to work with Samsung,” said Ken Fisher, Chairman and CEO of Fisher House Foundation. “Our military men and women should know we have their backs. That the nation is there for them. That their sacrifice will never be ignored.
