United States of Arts
October 26, 2015
The NEA (National Endowment for the Arts) celebrated its 50th Anniversary with a high-energy party at the National Portrait Gallery. Artists, educators, patrons and supporters enjoyed a lively cocktail reception in the Kogod Courtyard, dinner in the Luce Center and an intimate concert in the Great Hall.
Food added to the artistry of the cocktail party with griddled traditional and vegetarian Cubano Sandwiches; an Avocado Station with Toasts, Sips and ‘Carpaccio’; and pretty passed Hors d’Oeuvres.
Stylish and sleek dining tables in the Luce Center with modern, monochromatic arrangements and color-morphing lights created a dramatic back drop for the plated dinner of Cremont and Phyllo Kataïfi with Cress and Butternut Squash; and Elderwood-Smoked Halibut over Salsify Purée, topped with a slaw of Brussels Sprouts, Fennel and Kohlrabi.
Buffets of pick up Sweets and servers with Mini Milk Shakes greeted guests as they made their way to the Great Hall for a private concert with performances by Jeff Daniels, Carka Dirlikov and Rahim AlHaj.
Who better to celebrate the arts than this terrific team of creatives?
